LHD cars with UK plates

I see a lot of LHD cars registered with UK plates, are there any advantages of this as opposed to having a Spanish plated car?

Ease of registration, ownership purchase price (used cars in spain are rediculously priced) condition......most are run here illegally, with no annual tax disc or mot.

Also buying a vehicle in germany and getting registered with UK plates is very simple and inexpensive compared with registering in spain. (no silly transfer or illegalintheeubutspainmakemoremoneyfromitthanthefine import taxes)
